Hello!
I have a small history of battery trouble with my car.
Recently, I have had trouble starting my Toyota. I go to start it and the battery is dead. I get my car jumped and use it, but then it dies again after I leave my car. Then, one COLD morning on my way to work, I jump my car and the electricity shuts off in my car as I'm driving. I coast off to the side and the power goes back on after a moment. I drive it home and park it.
I called AAA to have them look at the battery. The guy said the battery was fine and I described the problem, so he looked at the alternator with his volt meter. He said that the alternator was broken. I think his meter wasn't picking up electricity in it? I don't know. Anyway, I replaced my alternator today, but I'm still having a problem. Maybe I didn't install the alternator correctly by tightening the bolt that connects to the battery?
This evening, I got my car jumped, drove it 17 miles and came home. The lights worked, the stereo worked, etc. I let my car sit parked in my garage for half-an-hour to charge the battery, but when I came back, the car was dead. I just installed a new alternator, so I don't know what is going on now.
What could it be? Please help me.
