Friday night my husband and I were stopped at a red light. We got rear ended by a drunk driver and sent our car into the car in front of us. The car is totaled. We purchased gap insurance when we bought the car in 2007 so everything will be fine. We have put over $14,000 in payments into the car since we bought it.
In my vast knowledge from watching judge shows, the judge will usually give the plaintiff 50% of the value of what they have lost.
Is there anyway we would be able to recover any of the money we had put into the car from payments? I know we got use out of the car, but $14,000 for 2 years of driving seems kind of a lot! Maybe it's just wishful thinking
