Car tire on my Road King

Never could understand why people get so upset when someone asks a simple question. Apparently he didn't see the answer, and just asked.


BTW, I have Progressive, and they tell me ANYTHING on my bike that is NOT made FOR a motorcycle (tires) would void my coverage in an accident.
("Items installed on your motorcycle that are not meant to be used on motorcycles, i.e.:car tires, may affect the operation and control of the motorcycle, and will void coverage")
I think your guys insurance agents are blowing smoke. Every insurance company I know will try EVERYTHING to get out of paying your claim, and a CAR tire on a motorcycle would be the first thing they'd come up with, IMHO.

I thought some one earlier said they had asked their Progressive agent and gave a different story...just sayin

Is my policy affected if I put on a car tire on the back end of my motorcycle? NO
So much for all this insurance arguments."

I think you're right. That's pretty typical. Ask 4 agents, get 4 different answers. However, I think my agent was honest with me. I'd hate to find out AFTER the accident that i wasn't covered, which is what I'd bet would happen when they discovered a car tire on your bike. I'm just not taking that chance over a few bucks.
 
I would get it in writing if I was going to run a car tire on a motorcycle.

Anyone gonna try to run motorycle tires on their cars?
 
I stopped at the local Dealer today to get an oil filter. So I ask him about running a CT on my bike. He said, no problem with running one on a RK because that's the best bike Harley makes...
 
If you think the people posting to this thread are posting idiotic things then why are you asking us questions? You aren't any more special than anyone else here. You can take the time to read the thread or not. I'd rather type up a damn book at this point than answer your question. The answer is: maybe.
 
Er ..... it was what's call a "retorical" question to what 'I' consider to be an idiotic thing to do.

The answers I was looking for are showing up.
