Hi All,
I bought a roadmaster cs500 (or such) and "successfully" installed it about 8 months ago. Over time, the sound would go out of all 4 of my speakers if I went over a bump, then the sound would go miraculously back on. The stereo itself would always be on, and would never lose power. I finally undid the radio hookup and noticed the ground was a bit loose (the original radio didn't have a ground to begin with, nissan nx) So when I retied the ground, I had sound in all 4 speakers. However, after an extended drive, they all went out after turning off the car. I provided the ground an extension (copper wire) and ran it down to a metal part in my car so that it had something to hook on to. And now, when I turn the car on or off I hear almost a small thump when the stereo goes on, but no sound. It has electricity. I think there is a short in the ground wire, since touching the ground wire now does nothing but incur a small static through the speakers...I hope one of you smart people in cyberspace may help me...I would be much obliged :)
