Car starts and components work fine, but stereo and inside lights dont?

The other day i was playing with the light on the roof (inside) of my car, The light wasn't working so i got it going again, the light then starting flickering and then turned out, so did my stereo and car boot light, everything else in the car works fine indicators, air con, etc, i have already checked the fuses does anyone know abit more about this or what i should do, i am going to get an auto sparky at work to look at it tomorrow but if he can't help i'd like to give some of these suggestions a go before taking it to a car place. cheers
