car radios with a toyota echo?

I have a 2001 Toyota echo 4 door sedan, and I want to replace my broken factory radio. How do I check to see that a radio that I'm buying fits and is compatible with my car?
 
you can fit any same size or smaller radio (they are prety much all the same size) inless you get into dvds and stuff....and they sell adapters to fit any .......
