Hey, I have a 1990 toyota camry V6 that I recently purchased a used engine for. The engine has around 40,000 miles on it. When the engine was installed the spark plug blew out the engine. I had the mechanic repair it with helicoils. Now when I drive it is feels like the engine is choking just a little (like it wants to shut off but has not while in drive). When the car was on a couple of days ago, I gently pressed down on the gas pedal when the car was in PARK and the car shut off. When I turned it back on, it do so with no problem. The check engine light is constanly on but it might be due to my new engine being put in (sensors or something). (Oh yea, before I replaced the engine the vehicle sat idle for about 5 months.) So far I've replaced the Radiator, Spark Plugs, Rear & Front Seals, Thermostat, Intake gasket & Timing belt. The old engine on the car had about 93,000 miles on it so my thoughts are I probably need to clean the fuel system and replace fuel filter. Can anyone help me out?
