Car Paint Job On The Cheap!?

First off, please pleas please! do not tell me to not do this. I am aware of the risks and that it wont look "professional." I know what I am getting into.

I have a 1973 Ford F100 Pickup. its paint is faded, rusty in spots, and doesnt look very good. It is basically a dump pickup...used only to haul around the lawn mower and haul grass out to the town landfill. I want to paint it...make it look a little bit better for....I am not really sure why....but would sure like to try.

I have seen methods where they use foam rollers to roll on rustoleum mixed with thinner....and the other way is to just spray paint it.

Obviously I need to sand the paint and do all necessary prep work but I am at a crossroads. I cant decide on whether to try the roll on method or the spray paint method...any ideas?

In your answer, could I get specific brands of paints used and the methods they should be applied?

Thanks! and btw, I dont need those naysayers telling me not to do this...i am fully aware that I am dumb :)
