Hi any views on how much the following work should cost? Replacing fan belt, timing belt and alternator? The quote I got from my mechanic was about $600! The timing belt and fan belt were $400 together and the alternator about $200. Not sure if I'm getting ripped off but they made it sound very urgent. My car is older - 1991 - and I know it needs maintenance but everytime I go to see this mechanic I end up with a bill of at least $300-$400.
Sorry this is the first question I've posted. The make is a Nissan Pulsar 91. Also the price I'm quoting is Australia dollars. Thanks.
