Car Loans, and Fincancing.?

I want to finance a car but i am only 17. Im am not legal yet to put a car under my own name so, I want my mother to co-sign on my credit union that i just joined with my job. Can she do that in order to get a car loan? The car i am trying to get cost about 5,955 its a 1999 camaro. Ive been driving, Im already on her insurrance for about a year. What she is worried about is she doesnt think she can get a approval because she has been in one accident about 5 months ago.Totaled her car. Geico handled it. She got a new one the next 2 days. So she thinks they wont approve her for another loan. Do yall think they will cause i need a car. I have money, but not enough to like buy off the spot. Im not a rapper,lol. How do you determine how much your car note will be too. (excuse any mispelling)
