Past couple of days I've noticed how hard my car was jerking when shifting from reverse to drive, especially in the morning. It doesn't seem to do it when shifting into any other gear. I drive an automatic 2004 Saturn Ion. The Ion doesn't use transmission fluid, so I'm not sure how to check if the transmission is going bad or not. What could be the problem and needs to be fixed?

Eric's Towing - I haven't really noticed the car doing this later on in the day or quite as hard. Seems to really only do this in the morning.
