Car Help???????????????????/?

i own a toyota celica ST162 1989 model 2.0 liter. The problem is the idle was high and when i hit the accelerator or let it fully go it jerks a bit i got told to check the throttle position sensor i did and a bit of plastic broke and i moved the switch inside and put it back together i got told not to touch the switch cause it will stuff all the revs and that of the car is this true and what can it do to my car if i drive it without getting checked???????????????
 
well, if theres things moving around in there, chances are its either gonna stop something up (who knows what itll get to) or its just gonna get cut up or fall out eventually. either way u go here, its gonna effect the car. it wont necessarily destroy ur entire car here, but it surely wont help it.

u CAN drive it like that but then thats just letting it go to get more to work on, real soon.

it probly wont be too much of a big deal to go get it checked out.
 
just replace the throttle position sensor, their not that expensive,yes if parts of it broke AND you messed with the inside of it then it is garbage so you need to replace it
