I have a ford escort (its front wheel dive), and it makes click like noises toward the front of the car. The clicks are not RPM related, they increase in frequency the faster the car goes, so im assuming its CV joint problem (or in that general area). Any useful advice would be greatly appreciated.

To test the CV joints you should reverse the car on either lock,if you hear a knocking sound the joint needs replacing .Get it in for a check up,to save money and off road time have a service done as well.

Probably not your CV joints, you might have a loose lifter or rocker. Not a real fun job. The top of your motor has to come off, and the lifters need to be replaced, the rockers can be tightened. The most money is in replacing the gaskets.

for one the car is junk now ford escorts are bad cars i would never ever be caught driving one friends had one and always had problems
tried to tell brother in law that when he traded his truck to his mom for her 1994 escort but sure enough he said oh no this car is great and i told him thats what everyone thinks let it give you a problem then u are in trouble well 2 years go by with no problem and one day he went to help me jump my car off because battery was dead and while chargeing with his car idleing the motor blew for no reason at all now he regrets tradeing his truck for it so if i was you junk it or trade it for another car
