heat is on? I recently purchased a Mercury Grand marquis and it shutters and shakes a bit when it's idling but only when the heat and blower is running and it's not constant. About every 20 seconds or so, its like something draws power from the belt because it slows down and the RPM's drop from about 1500 to 1000 and the car shakes a little bit, then it speeds back up for a minute. It continues to do that as long as the heat is on. When I turn it off it quits but still idles pretty low. The car was hit in the right front side, and someone mentioned motor mounts but I would think it would shake all the time if I had a bad motor mount.
Well it idles at about 1000, but when the AC cycles the air it drops down to about 900 I guess. That issue worries me less than the swaying on the freeway. at higher speeds when I go over a bump or hill instead of an even cushy kind of luxurious shock movement, it kind of sways a iittle side to side. Not abruptly or anything, just kind of wishy washy. The tires are new and I just rotated them. I'm worried about the frame maybe being twisted or front end due to the damage to the bumper right front.
