Car help, car custumization on a budget?

I'm looking for a car that I can make my own by completely customizing it. I have about 3000 to spend on the car, and will have a small amount of disposable income that I can use to customize it. What kind of car looks ok and has reliabilty but some power, And that also looks good when customized
