Car help! (brake lights)?

My car brake lights don't work when i push the brakes pedal. However they do work with the hand brake. I have changed the brake light switch which is located behind the pedal. So this means the light bulds works and thats not the problem. The flasher does work, and other then that I have no idea wats going on!!!

hey phil ! once you put the brake light switch in you have to adjust it. also did you check the fuse ? the parking brake light is on a different circuit then the brake light.
 
Thats the oddest thing I've ever heard of. Brake lights are not suppose to work with the hand brake. Wouldn't that make your battery die after sitting overnight with the lights on? You changed the brake switch on the petal, changed the bulbs. Did you try the most obvious thing before doing all the other things? Check the brake light fuse in the fuse box?
 
you lost me here, we're talking brake lights on the back of some kind of car that dont light up unless you use hand brake? or dash brake light only comes on with hand brake( which is normal) Start over with the type of car and which lights you are concerned with, i could probably help
 
Check connections to the brake lights and the brake switch. You may want to take your car to a shop and get an evaluation.
