car help 97 pontiac bonneville sse oil gauge problems?

I have a 97 ponttiac bonneville sse my oil gauge was going wack and my oil sending unit was leaking ( by the oil filter) now my oil gauge goes higer then normal i think it is mainly on like 40psi normal i could be wrong but most of the itme its in the middle now it goes higher then normal sometimes i changed the oil sending unit and oil and still have this problem it never drops to zero i was told i need a new battery by autozone they tested it and its only givin out like 200 amps instead of like 800 that its supposed to i need help with this pleaseeeeee
 
the battery would,nt have anything to do with that. it could be that the oil pump is acting up too. you could drop the oil pan and check the pick-up screen to see if it,s getting clogged.
