it...is it a good car to buy? i know nothing about cars! im 18 and this will be my first car to buy outright in cash on my own help please what is your opinion?

Oh no that is too expensive for a car that is 11 years old and the mileage is high....besides a sunfire (just like a neon and a cavalier) is not a car made to last in the long run they usually start falling apart around 6-7 years old, thats whay they are so cheap brand new...these cars are throw away cars...look for something else Im not kidding you will be dissapointed I have had a sunfire and a cavalier they are junk. The other day at a car lot I saw a 2003 Lincoln LS V-8 for $5,000(and it was fully loaded) and you want to pay almost 3 grand for a car that is 11 years old?

It could be--that's a pretty fun car to drive--but since it's that old with that many miles, I'd take it to a mechanic and have it inspected first. That might cost you $100, but it's worth it to find out whether it has any major things wrong with it before you buy it.
To Aricka: A safety inspection is not the same as a thorough mechanical inspection to ascertain what kind of overall shape the car is in, what it might need done, etc. These inspections take about an hour and if you can find someplace that will do it for $12, good luck with getting a thorough job done!

it depends on the car's condition, try to take it for a test drive. and have a car savvy buddy check out its engine. also pay for a carfax, its only like $20, it will show you the history of the car(accidents, repairs, maintenance and such)
