Before I begin, I am a hypochondriac, just to put that out there. I was just outside putting the car in my garage, and when I got the car in the garage I shut it off right away so it wouldn't keep spewing out fumes. I sat in the car for a minute with the garage door open so the garage could air out before I stepped out of the car, but it still smelled of fumes a little inside of the car. After a minute I got out and rushed out of the garage to breath fresh air outside, I shouldn't have waited in the car for a minute to let the garage air out because it didn't, and I probably just ended up inhaling more fumes than if I had held my breath while parking and rushed out right after turning it off. After being outside, I left the garage door open for a minute so the room could air out whatever fumes were left, but when I went to close the garage door it still smelled of fumes. The car was only on in the garage for a couple seconds while I was parking it, and the garage door was open the entire time. I am feeling a little dizzy and my thoughts seem discombobulated, and I also feel a slight pain in my chest. I park the car often in the garage and don't usually feel this way after, perhaps the wind was blowing into the garage though or something, or maybe the fumes smell worse when it is snowing? I really don't know but I am freaking out. I don't have a headache, I am just a little dizzy. I know people who walk in New York City or park in parking lots must inhale lots more gas fumes than I just did, so I don't know why I am having this reaction. Will I be okay? Will my lungs and brain cells be permanently effected? Do you think I did temporary damage to my lungs and brain cells?
