car cuts out plz hellllp?

i have an 84 pontiac fiero and i was driving the other day and my car just started cutting out now when i start the car it does fine i drive it for 10 to 15 minutes and it starts cutting out! its drives fine for those 10 to 15 minutes tho and sometimes to start it i have to pull up on the starter wire could it be something with the starter? i have new sparkplug wires im lost? it doesnt just idle funny when im driving it sound bad when i take off its very slow and sounds like its trying real hard
