Car battery light flashes?

I drive a 99 mercury cougar and I just had the alternator replace not even two montes ago, and not the battery light comes on randomly while driving and goes off when I hit the gas, is it the alternator sencer? I made sure battery cables are tight (brand new battery) and the belt seems tight, what the he'll do I do
