My insurance company wants me to sign a power of attorney to them so they can process the paperwork and payment of my car. The car was in an accident and resulted in total loss. The amount to be payed to me is 14000. thats enough to pay off the car. My question is, has anyone ever been in this type of situation? Do you really have to sign a power of attorney to them to do the paper work. How do I know they wont take my money?
