Hi everyone,
Previously LLincoln here. For those that don't know, I changed my screen name to Frosty6.
As most of you know I had a PLIF L4-S1 May of 06 and have been in worse pain since the surgery. On a positive note, I went back to work 2 weeks ago and I can deal with it fine until about 3 pm. Luckily I get off at 4:30 so, so far so good. I love the job and feel like I belong so hopefully it will be something I can do and help me get back to "life".
Last night I was in a terrible accident and totaled my car. It was a head on collision, my fault. I took a right turn too wide and hit the guy coming to a stop to turn left. I have serious seat belt bruising and a few other things. My back is killing me obviously. I went to the ER but after waiting over an hour (empty waiting room and not very busy ER) they finally called me back and told me to go to room 2. No escort, no nothing. After waiting over an hour there, no one, not one person came in and took vitals, told me someone would be with me, no pillow or blanket, nothing. I got pretty enraged and yelled about it to my husband and asked him to take me home.
My question is, what do I do now? I don't think I need an ER, but I think I should have xrays or something to make sure I didn't cause more damage. Any advice you have would be most appreciative. Also, do I contact my PM doctor or the doctor the performed the surgery? I don't see the latter any longer. I know I should do something, but what? Then I get to contend with my job. They seem very good but who knows what I am going to need off to get a rental car, checks on my body etc.
Aside from the few physical symptoms, my mental one is not so hot but I guess that is to be expected. My first serious accident. My passenger is hurt worse than she thought but nothing severe and the 2 teenagers in the back seat are fine. The other driver was also fine thank the lord. His airbags deployed, ours did not so we are a bit upset about that as well.
I hope everyone here is doing much better today.
Love,
Lisa
