Lisa I am so sorry to hear about your car accident. I know I don't feel as confident driving now as I did before my surgery because I still don't feel I have my range of motion back yet. I drive to my family doctor here in our area but I still don't get out much by myself. I have to have a MRI on my knees today so I have a doctor's appointment soon that I will be driving to. I think you definitely need to see your PM doctor and then maybe he can send you to your surgeon and get you in sooner. Please take care and take it easy.

Gentle Hugs
Linda:angel:

Thank you all for your support and kind worRAB. Today is a pretty agonizing day. Worse than yesterday even. My neck is stiff and my upper back hurts. My PM doc told me to go to my primary doctor and he would order the MRI/CT scans etc and to let them know. I have to go to PM Thursday so I will fill them in. The primary doc said he didn't see where an MRI or CT scan would matter at this point because if there is more damage, nothing can be done right away. I was pretty shocked but I guess if I can walk, it must not be that bad in his mind. He prescribed meRAB which he wouldn't normally do and I have to let the PM doc know that as well. He thinks I might have cracked my clavical (sp) which I am to assume is my collar bone. The bruise is just starting to show but oooh does it hurt. I have a pretty good bruise from my shoulder to my ribs from the seat belt. What a nightmare this has been. Sleeping has been nothing but revisiting the crash over and over again. My manager was such a ******** about the whole thing too and I really like it there. It was my first temptation to keep walking today. The supervisor was wonderful though. The passenger of my car is hurt worse than she thought as well and went to the doc as well. At the least, we think she has a concussion, her back and her knees are bruised badly. She said she had her seatbelt on but my daughter doesn't think she did. I know she did when we first left her house, but I don't know about later. I always wear mine so I assume she did since she did earlier.

Sage has her big day coming up later this week. Don't forget to pray for her too.

Love,
Lisa

Hi everyone,

Previously LLincoln here. For those that don't know, I changed my screen name to Frosty6.

As most of you know I had a PLIF L4-S1 May of 06 and have been in worse pain since the surgery. On a positive note, I went back to work 2 weeks ago and I can deal with it fine until about 3 pm. Luckily I get off at 4:30 so, so far so good. I love the job and feel like I belong so hopefully it will be something I can do and help me get back to "life".

Last night I was in a terrible accident and totaled my car. It was a head on collision, my fault. I took a right turn too wide and hit the guy coming to a stop to turn left. I have serious seat belt bruising and a few other things. My back is killing me obviously. I went to the ER but after waiting over an hour (empty waiting room and not very busy ER) they finally called me back and told me to go to room 2. No escort, no nothing. After waiting over an hour there, no one, not one person came in and took vitals, told me someone would be with me, no pillow or blanket, nothing. I got pretty enraged and yelled about it to my husband and asked him to take me home.

My question is, what do I do now? I don't think I need an ER, but I think I should have xrays or something to make sure I didn't cause more damage. Any advice you have would be most appreciative. Also, do I contact my PM doctor or the doctor the performed the surgery? I don't see the latter any longer. I know I should do something, but what? Then I get to contend with my job. They seem very good but who knows what I am going to need off to get a rental car, checks on my body etc.

Aside from the few physical symptoms, my mental one is not so hot but I guess that is to be expected. My first serious accident. My passenger is hurt worse than she thought but nothing severe and the 2 teenagers in the back seat are fine. The other driver was also fine thank the lord. His airbags deployed, ours did not so we are a bit upset about that as well.

I hope everyone here is doing much better today.

Love,
Lisa

oh Lisa....I am so upset and concerned for you. How horrible for you to be in such an accident...thank the Lord it was only the car that was totaled...
I think I would either call my PM Dr. or my family Dr. and see if one of them can arrange for a CT or MRI just to make sure that you didn't damage your back... This is just so upsetting.... Yeah, all of this has to happen when you have just started a new job..hopefully they will understand that you have just been in a serious car accident...and that you need to have your injuries evaluated. Please let us know how you are doing...

I spent the day up in Jax...having final physical with Dr. G/S...blood work, chest xray, and PT training on the walker, so that I do not put any weight on the right foot or leg...can't even lay on the right side...that is a big no no. Dr. gave me a few xanax tablets to help me deal with the anxiety I have developed...I try not to think of the surgery...but when I do, tears just run down my face...not a pretty sight. I will be in intensive care for 3 days...and in a regular room after that. Hubby will be able to spend the nights as the rooms are privet...also have pull out bed for him...which makes it very nice.
Just wanted to fill you in.. Surgery is at 7:30 on Thurs..

In the meantime...please take care of you...I will be thinking of you...and saying a prayer for you.

Leslie

Lisa,
How are you doing today? Did you get in touch with your DR????
Will be up for a while yet...but have to leave home at about 5:45 to get to Jax for 6 tomorrow morning...surgery is still at 7. Dr. G/S is sooooo nice..I wish you could get to see him...do you get new ins. with your new job????
I just feel he could help you...so smart.
Take care...hope to hear from you soon!!!

Oh my Goodness Lincoln!! I am so so sorry. You just lived thru my largest fear in life. In the end, who cares about your job. You and your loved ones are the most important thing. I would definitely see someone and be checked out throughly. I think you need an MRI/CT scan at the least ASAP.

I am lifting you and this situation up in prayer. I pray that you have not reinjured you spine or hurt it further.

Heavenly Father,
Please look over my dear friend who is recovering from a serious car accident. I have faith in you to heal my friend and I also trust in the plan you have for her life. Lord, I don't always understand your ways, and why my friend has to suffer, but I have faith that you look with mercy and grace toward my friend. Nourish her spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort her with your presence. Let my friend know you are with her during these difficult times. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.

I am doing great today. I had a deep tissue massage last night that was so painful, but I have to say, it relieved my sprirts. I have been so down in the dumps I thought I wouldn't pull out of it. I still hurt of course, but at least it isn't doom and gloom.

Thank you all for your kind worRAB and prayers.

I've been told I should see a chiropractor. Does anyone see one that has had a fusion before? I am concerned they would make things worse instead of better. Any thoughts?

Love,
Lisa

Oh diet, you are just such a beautiful person. Amen. You got tears streaming down my face and my heart filled with love and joy. Thank you so much for being there for me and so many others when we need you most.

Love,
Lisa

Lisa,
nice to hear from you...
Honey, I am so -so sorry for what happened to you. But as Diet said thank God you all are OK and this is what matter.
Your job will be there, don't worry and if not - you will find something else in worse case scenario. Right now I think you need to see your DR. I would contact PM and would go from there.
He may evaluate you and send you to see your surgeon. I don't think having MRI or CT done would hurt you, but at least you will know if you did any damage or not (I pray for NOT).

I can't drive due to my dropped foot and very weak right leg, but my worse fear is to get behind the weal and have an accident... so I understand what you are going through.

Best of luck to you and I hope you will be OK:angel:
