I bought a car three years back from a VW car dealership for $38,000. It was a 2006 Touareg with all premium features and 9,000 miles on it. A new 2006 car probably sold for $60,000-$65,000, so I thought $38,000 was a good deal. The car was and still is in great condition. My only mistake I made is that I did not look at the CarFax report for its accident history. I recently found that the car had almost $35,000 worth of repairs at the time I bought it. Is there any law where the dealer is obligated to disclose this information to you? I believe that this is material information and should be disclosed to a buyer. My state of residence is Florida. Please let me know if you have any information and what steps I can take against the dealer for non-disclosure of material information. I probably would have bargained a lot more had I known this information.
