cant work my philips webcam?

I have a dell pc and i have a philips PC webcam with headset. when i plug it into the USB and the headset into the computer it used to come up system is ready to use but when i clicked on it, nothing came up. there is no program i can click on to work the webcam. even when i press the camera button on top of the webcam nothing comes up? plz help
