Can't unlock my HTC Google Andriod G1

Hi,

I have been using the pattern unlocking feature for my mobile .... due to entering multiple invalid patterns .... now the phone asks me to unlock using my gmail account .... i have been unlocking using this account but now it is not even accepting my email n password ... it says my password or email is invalid ......whereas i can login to gmail account via my laptop with the same password .... i have changed the password but still it is not working.... :(
 
The following, or a combination of them sometimes work:

1. Touch the password box so your better keyboard pops up, then hold down the "?123" button and open the better android settings. Then open the emergency dialer. In the emergency dialer, i repeatedly tap the home and menu buttons (this takes a while). You will eventually catch a glimpse of your home screen. When that happens you need to open the physical keyboard and then continue tapping the
home and menu and it should pop you in. (Its very tricky). After that, disable the lock pattern so the only way to pass the too many pattern
attempts lock screen is to open the physical keyboard!

2. During the call, press the home touch, then go to parameters and security and disable the pattern locking... and hang up. The phone will still be locked and ask you to log in with your google account. Just press the unlock button again and you will probably unlock the phone.

It's a common problem.
