Can't remember the name of this book?

I read this book back when I was in grade 4 or 5. I don't remember a lot of details, but I know that the main character was a girl and I think she lived in Alaska or somewhere that it snows alot. She had this necklace, and when she where's it at night, in her dreams she could see the future. I think her mother dies in an avalanche and that's pretty much all I can remember. If you know what book this is please let me know. Thanks!!
