Cant remember the author or name of this book?

Ok so the book is about a girl who is having a really crappy day so she goes into this second hand shop and finds a pendant thing that she ends up buying. When she gets home this really hunky guy shows up and she thinks it's a joke but it turns out he's really an alien. He also has a brother that can turn into a cat (but you find out more about that in the second book) Does anyone know the author or what this book is called?
This author has also written a book about an alien planet where the females run everything and the males are only sex objects and such. So if that helps at all.....
 
I saw a movie in Disney channel that is just like this book it was called freaky hollow or something oh yeah and Christmas is over TAKE OFF THE HAT!
