Cant receive TXT's from friend (AT&T)

I just got a Cricket phone (Samsung Spex) yesterday and can't receive TXT's from a friend who uses AT&T. I also have a AT&T GoPhone I havent shut off yet, and it also cant send TXT's to my new cricket phone.

I called Cricket twice and they removed and re-added TXT service twice now but still no go.

I also cant SMS from Yahoo! Messenger, but that might be normal..

Any ideas??

I had the same problem. It had to go up to a regional tech Major PITA. The seem to always think it's an AT&T problem. Did you port your old nuraber? I think that was part of my problem.
 
Yahoo SMS will not work.
Porting seems to wreak havoc on SMS/MMS switching.
Even if it is ATT problem someone at cricket should be able to help you, they have an inter-carrier AGREEMENT, meaning there should be communication between both sides to resolve problems. but, since you also have an ATT phone you could call their care and tell them about the problem and hopefully get both sides working on it. I've had multiple problems with prefixes not being loaded correctly in cricket's verizon's(landline) and att's(landline) switches causing issues with toll charges. cricket's support was able to resolve all of these issues through requests to have the prefix's re-loaded properly.
MMS -> email and vice-versa has problems with certain email providers (not sure why). I know that gmail works for sure. try a different email address and try sending out from your phone also.
