Can't put files on my Sony Ericsson mobile phone?

When I try to put something on my phone, be it a song or picture, it doesn't work. Instead i am told that "Memory card is full." But it's not! It still has like 715 MB free!! Why am I being told that memory card is full?? Is it because sometimes I haven't been using sony ericsson media manager to transfer files? How do I sort this?
 
It maybe that even if your card still has 715 mb it could be shared with other files on your phone, try using another card to see if that will work
