Can't get my samsung phone to connect to the pc,help?

I have recently bought a new samsung phone, which came with a usb and cd's to install so i can upload photo's. i have installed the program Samsung New PC studio, and when opening have clicked on search device (when my phone is connected via the usb cable). the PC studio is recognising that the phone is connected but is saying that it can not connect as it is opened in another program. however there are no other prgrams open and i dont have a clue what it is talking about, help please?!
