How swollen is your finger? Is it slightly swollen, really swollen? Windex works well at getting rings or toe rings off when swollen. I'm and adult and I ended up getting the childhood illness known as 5th Disease and my whole body swelled up and Windex worked great for me.
If it is really bad and you are having poor circulation in your finger you may need to go to your local fire dept. and they can cut the ring off your finger. Your local jeweler will be able to solder the ring back together for you. This is almost what I had to do; however the Windex worked rather well for me. Good luck.
