Can't get EDGE

I've had the BBminutes and mail program for over a month. Right when I signed up I could get EDGE and everything was fine.

Problem was I forgot to pay my bill three months in a row (lol!) so my service was cut off. I've since paid it off and have a balance of zero and can now call and text again, but I can't get the EDGE to come back up.

I still have the blackberry minutes and mail program which includes unlimited data.

Any ideas?
 
Senator, I don't believe that a carrier can disable EDGE coverage. They can stop certain services (Data, etc.).

Assuming you're still in an area that had EDGE coverage before, I would first call your carrier to see if they are having any coverage issues.

Secondly, I would resend your service books (Options/Advanced/Host Routing Table/Click) and then reboot your device to see if that helps (battery pull).

Let us know how you make out.
 
My area definately does have perfect coverage. Right now all I get is GSM. I've tried resending books but it said I couldn't because I didn't have data service available :|
 
Ahhh, good point. You can only get data in areas with EDGE or GPRS. Have you called your carrier to see if there are any cell tower issues in your area?
 
the same thing happened to me (i wasn't 3 months late just a couple days) called t-mo they had me do a battery pull and that fixed the problem.
 
Try the battery pull trick, but if that doesn't work call your carrier and ask for the Blackberry Customer Care and have them check that your account Blackberry settings were correctly reactivated after the phone account was reactivated.

I have had the same problem with Cingular, call them and if you are lucky you will talk to a rep that has a brain.

But do the battery in out thing.
 
I had the same problem I called tmo bb tech support he said that they had to take the data off and made me do a battery pull and then put the data back on and then another battery pull. After that I had no issues.

But I do have problem with edge it self why have GPRS then edge and then EDGE I mean you can't do crap when its edge and you can do all the good stuff when it says GPRS and EDGE why have the little edge there when you can't do crap with it. May b I'm wrong but that's my $0.02.

So call your service bb tech support if you get anyone else just tell them to fwd you to bb tech support cause they can't do crap for you. They might say let me see if I can help you but they can't trust me all they are good for yelling at.

well i think thats how they can tell people if their data is working cuz i know when i have the edge i wont get data to save my life so i get to call tech supprt and bit^%^*&^*&about it ........
 
I just bought my Pearl about a month ago. I took it home, got on my tmo account online and enabled the blackberry service internet plan or whatever... and i can get online just fine with GPRS but it wont let me get EDGE for some reason... even when i'm standing in the TMO store and all the store models are on EDGE, mine still says GPRS with full bars... ?
