Hi. I am losing mind because no doctor can find out what is wrong with me. First, I have many health problems but about 3 months ago I got sick with a bacterial infection and started having severe dizziness and total body weakness. I mean I do not have the strength to lift my arms or to even walk. It is my whole body. Then headaches started after that. Bad ones. I had my thyroid checked and it was out of whack a little and got straighted out (I do have hypothyroidism). It is fine now. Then I got a MRI and Cat Scan done and it showed polyps in my sinuses. By the way, I have had these all my life and have had 5 surgeries to remove them. So I need to have surgery again because I am having alot of sinus infections and pain. Then I went to a blood doctor because my red cell count was a little high. He said the weakness would not be coming from that and he mentioned a sleep study clinic. My internal medicine doctor thinks it is my sinuses making me so weak and sometimes I feel like she doesent believe me. I am so fed up. I wonder if I still have a bug in me from that bacterial infection. I have a hard time getting rid of infections. It usually takes two rounds of antibiotics. I felt ok 3 months ago and I was able to excerise, now it exhausts me I end up passing out after a workout. I do have type 2 diabetes also, and my blood sugar has been in the normal range all this time.
Does anyone have any advice? I called my doctor again, and she is giving more antibiotic because now I am coughing alot. Should I see a neurologist next or what? I am starting to get sick of doctors. I just want to get well.
Thanks

I would really really have your thyroid rechecked. You may not be at the optimal level of medication. Your thyroid can wreck havoc on your life. I too have a thyroid disorder and it truly can affect the quality of life. If you wouldn't mind posting your thyroid levels I would like to look over them. You may need an added boost to your medication.

You can always visit the thyroid message board here. There are some great people there that can help you as well. And many stories like yours too.

Interesting read... I sorta have the same symptoms. I had a lot of infections about 8 months ago. Sinus, ear, mono.. all kinds of them. It seems like every few months I also get a nasty cold or flu. I know what you mean about weakness too. I have to sleep for at least 9+ hours, then take a 2 hour nap after a few classes at school. After working out, it feels like my muscles are about to explode.

I had a lot of tests done as well. I too was told I had a high red blood count. Was there ever a diagnosis for that?

First of all, with all the bacterial infections you have had, you must have taken lost of antibiotics. Antibiotics take away the good bacteria in your body as well as the bad. You might have candida which is an overgrowth of yeast in your body due to all the antibiotics. I would go to a good holistic doctor and discuss supplements for candida. I happen to have candida and have been through hell and back for the past four years. I also have hypothyroid and hashimotos. I also most likely have a chronic fatigue syndrome also which sounds like you might have that to. I would check into these possibilities to start with. Let me know what happens. LaLa

Thankyou everyone for your advice.
Valkatie, I don't have the info on my thyroid right now. My doctor usually sends it in the mail and I haven't gotten it yet. But I can tell you it is in the normal level now. Thats what they told me.
Blues, the red count was done at my doctors office then I was sent to the blood doctor. They took a pint of blood out of me that day in hopes my symptoms would subside, and they didn't. I dont know what tothink.
Lala, actually I didn't take alot of antibiotics for that infection. Its weird, some work on me and others dont. And because most of them cause diarreah, I cant them because I have chronic diarreah from ibs(sorry to be so graphic). So I just took one round when I had that infection. Then a month later I got another sinus infection and took another round. Did your chronic fatige come out of the blue? I was able to exercise fine (well, it was exhausting usually because of my gaining so much weight, but not incredibly weak like I am now) now I cant. I have never heard of candida. Can it be found in blood work? Cause I have had tons of blood tested for everything. And nothing was found. Thanks
