Can't gain muscle - Eat right and train intense!?

It is very difficult for some people to gain muscle mass and very easy for others. Is it fair? No, it isn't but genetics has a lot to do with most mass gains when you work out. However, I find it weird that you are working to intensity and then picking up lighter weights and then doing them not at full intensity. You should always work at full intensity, that's why your not feeling the typical burn when you are done your workout. Secondly I would try to take creatine, I found Cell-tech to work very well for me.

Ok iv been working out about 4 years now ang not gained anything basically, i eat right (alot) 2 grams of protien per pnd of b.weght and only gain fat and i train full intensity- After im done to failure i will pick up lighter weights and do them so its not my intensity! I leave a week to a week/2 weeks between work outs and im always switching them about,

The only time i ever gain is when i train after a long break- my muscles will hurt for a week or so afterward then no matter what i do i cant make them hurt or gain anything, im so pissed off im doin everything right and more!! any answers?
i typically train to failure i dont alway go past it that was an example of some of the stuff i have tryed, i have also tryed not goin to failure.
people are misunderstanding the 'lighter weights' bit and to the person that said it aint rocket science - maby it aint for you but everyone is different dont be so single minded! u think iv been doin the same work-out for four years- obv NOT!
