I would like to see some comparisons on these phones. I don't like bar phones, I prefer flip phones, but the W810i has some pretty good ****.....

What about the W300i and the W710i.....? These all look really good.

That all depends on what you are exactly looking for in a phone. You probably checked out the specs of each phone. The W300i is a budget phone, while the W710i can be said to be a flip version of the W810i because they both boast 2MP cameras. However, there are differences between the two.

- W810i has Auto Focus, W710i doesn't
- W710i has a brighter screeen, and updated UI over the W810i - meaning you can be more in depth with the calendar and notes
- W710i has multiple alarms with the new UI, W810i doesn't
- W710i has A2DP stereo bluetooth, W810i doesn't

The nw UI on the W710i works really well. That's why alot of people say that SEs are a great alternative to getting a non-PDA/smart phone. But overall I like the W810i better just because I'm not a flip phone fan. I think the only thing I think that the W300i has over the W710i is the spring assist when opening the phone. On the W710i, you feel like you're almost forced to use 2 hands to open it. Ao if you're coming from flip phones that use spring assist, you might not get used to it for a little bit. Feel free to ask anymore questions. Oh, and if you're wondering if I have used the phones you're asking about before, check out the pic below

thanks for the help. It looks like the W300i is the one I want. I really don't like using the camera on phones. I have a great digital camera that I use. I mainly want a good easy sturdy reasonably priced flip phone that has the ability store files and coincidently has a good mp3 player. I've been seeing good reviews for this phone....

Can you upgrade from a 512MB stick to let's say a 4 gig stick? Is that possible? Or is the W300i limited to a maximum of 1 gigs?....it seems like the info that I have read tells me that there is a max of 1 gig on the W300i....maybe I'm reading that wrong..

A 2 GB just came out recently...but kinda pricey. That's the only drawback I see in terms of expandable memory. Since the W810i uses MS Pro & Pro Duo, it's used with most Sony devices. Plus, since it's been out for a while, it's alot cheaper than the M2 cards that the W710i and the W300i uses. When I had both flip phones, I used the W300i more because it was less bulky than the W710i. Plus, I like to open phones using one hand, so the spring assist came in real handy. But the W710i does have the pedometer application, if you want to use it to count steps and calories...really useful if you are actually going to use it.

The W300i is a great phone. I've had nothing but positive experiences with it. However, if you change your mind and decide on getting the W710i, you might want to consider getting the Z710i version instead. Because it looks better IMHO...more classy look, not toy-like. And over time, the rubber surround will eventually deteriorate.

thanks man.....your info has helped me a ton. It looks like the 300i is the way to go for me....it just sucks that it uses that M2 card instead of a card a little easier to find. I use tigerdirect.ca a ton to order my electronics through and the M2 is the only thing they don't carry......right now anyway...do you have any suggestions where I could pick up M2 cards for a decent price online?

One of the cheapest places as usual, eBay. However, I'm not too convinced that some of them are genuine M2 cards since some are being sold a bit low. But I did buy a 512 Mb SanDisk for about $20. You can also check out Craigslist in your area. I'd say, just keep looking around and you might find a good deal.

Have fun with your new phone.

no one would give me an answer to mine so i chose the s710 very impressed but i also have the w300i so they are both awesome...couldnt afford the w810 so eh...maybe some day

what sold me was 9 hours of talk time! rediculous i carry the w300i at work to show people that is beats the razr...i sell em like hot cakes

yeah....it totally beats the razor. The only downside, which really isn't that bad, is that you have to buy an M2 card. It doesn't use generic microSD cards....., but that's all I can really say that's bad about it. It's really awesome that you can create your own mp3 ringtones really easy....

Why don't you sell both your S710a and your W300i, and buy a W810i. The S710a stands out of the crowd with its design, but its technology is old. Besides, W810i can currently hold up to 4 GB of memory. I think a 8 GB will be coming out soon.
