Can't decide between phones...

My wife and I are currently with Verizon (have unlimited data). She didn't see any phones that she loved (currently using the MotoQ). I currently have the POS Samsung Delve, and I like the HTC Incredible a lot, and the Droid X and Droid 2 are definite possibilities.

We looked at AT&T and she LOVES the Blackberry Torch, and I'm interested in the Torch a little bit as well, but am really interested in the Captivate and a little interested in the iPhone4.

Considering I'll be switching from the Delve, I really don't know what I'm looking for in the current smartphones. I definitely am interested in apps and I text a lot.

Any suggestions to help me along with my decision?
 
It sounds to me that iPhone 4 would be the best option for you since you like apps. iPhone's touchscreen is second to none, great for texting and mobile web browsing. Check if you will get good rates first otherwise I would suggest that you also consider getting a factory unlocked iPhone 4 instead. I always get my phone factory unlocked and my last one was a Nokia N8 I bought from timtechs because I don;t want to get a data plan. Just my two cents
 
Unlocked iPhone 4 is very expensive though. You're talking about a range where you can buy a 3G iPad with 64gb, and that gives you better apps and an even better month to month plan.

I also forgot to mention that price will play a pretty big part in my decision. We were looking to buy through letstalk.com, and the iPhone isn't even offered through them. The Torch and Captivate are priced pretty competitively, and the Verizon Droid phones are priced pretty well also.
 
Droid is great! My uncle uses it all the time for work, and he switches between phones all the time. All lot of apps too.

I would say Torch only if you have a large bb network, because by app. or graphics it isn't that great compare to what else you are looking at. Torch is kinda heavy too.
 
Ah! My strong suggestion would be iPhone4, it's my personal choice.
You can never go wrong with it. It's the best and the right answer for you.
Surely, you'll enjoy it as much as i am now.
 
If you like to customize your device and burn different ROMs and generally control your use of the device, the Android has no peer.
Apps are refundable and being a large screened device swappable batteries are a must. this is paramount if you don't want to have to ration your use of a fun and powerful device. No need for itunes or any syncing SW although many Media player will sync with it. You can use it as a MAss Storage device on ANY PC anytime and transfer any files through BT ir a wifi network..In a word YOU control how you want to use the device but with that comes a learning curve.

If on the other hand you want your bed made and clothes ironed breakfast made and everything done for you.....iPhone is the way to go. You don;t have to think to use the iPhone. Its all done for you. Both devices have their target crowds.
 
The iPhone is the most app-centric phone available (agreed with above). I'd also like to make a small point that its apps both tend to cost more than, and are more restricted in content than, their peers on Android operating systems.

And yes, I like thinking when I have a phone, just like thinking about which car I'm going to buy. Seeing something beautiful with cupholders is a bad reason to buy a car. Checking under the hood occasionally -- and noticing the Android is customizable while under the iPhone's hood is only a power switch -- means a lot.
