Can't connect TV to HD Set Top Box to DVD Recorder?

I've got a Sony Wega TV (about 3 years old, so no S-Video connections, but has component connections). I've got it connected to our Teac STBox (through component) but now I want to add a JVC DVD Recorder so I can record the digital channels. No idea how to do this!!! Do the S-Video connections on the DVD and STBox come into play somehow??
 
Go from the box to the dvd with component then from the dvd to the tv also with component it is better than s video
