Hey everyone

I just got a E61, when i finished installation, and try to plug in the phone, nothing heppens.

when i plug the phone in, my computer automatically searches for drivers and installs them, but PC suite does not seem to detect it.

I have windows XP
installed all drivers
made sure serial cable and usb is connected in the connection manager..

what now?

thanks

once you plug in the phone select pc suite from the phone. after it is done installing drivers then open pc suite and hit connceted and follow the directions. also for some people that aren't using an oem cable there might be problems with that.

I've done that but it just hangs at the screen where it's waiting for me to plug in the phone, but it is already plugged in. PC Suite worked the very first time for me, but since then, it hasn't picked it up.

mine will get to that point then wait for the windows drivers to be installed and for you to select pc suite on the phone. you could open up the device manager and see if something is missing drivers. also you are using the official nokia cable right?

So I tried this on my wife's laptop and it picks up fine after installing PC Suite and plugging in for the first time. But on my machine, I can remove all the devices from device manager, uninstall PC Suite and Cable drivers, clear out the registry, and re-install everything, yet still no go in picking up my phone.
I'm using the CA-53 cable from Nokia.

yah i tried everything and it didn't work.

solution is to just use my other computer for updating

and then use my mem card reader to transfer files

sucks that i can't sync though

There must be something wrong with usb on your PC. Is your PC updated with all service packs, motherboard drivers, etc.? and other usb 2.0 devices working? Have you tried another usb port?
