Can't catch my breath!

I have been having problems with shortness of breath lately.
Especially after taking a drink of water, pop, or whatever sometimes I become extremely short of breath for a few seconds after swallowing and I am gasping trying to get my breath back.
Does this happen to anyone else?
It is very scary! Please help!

Not sure. Could be acid reflux. Acid can irritate the lungs and cause shortness of breath. You can have reflux without the "typical" symptom of heartburn.
