Can't cancel my cricket service

I have 2 cricket accounts - 1 for my daughter and 1 for me. Loved the service ($$) but i couldn't get good enough coverage at my house so I need to cancel my account.

I called cricket 4 times today to cancel the service, but couldn't get anywhere. When you get a customer service rep on the line they say they can't help me and i have to be transferred to a "lead representative."

2 times they did that i waited on hold for 30+ minutes and then finally hung up.

The other 2 times they transfer me and the recording says that the line is busy and to call back later and hangs up on me.

I asked the customer service rep (if you can call them that) if they can do it for me b/c i can't get to someone after they transfer and they say that they can't do anything.

Anyone have any ideas for me?

yeah, i've had to deal with them before. I would suggest calling, and stating that your having problems with your phone, and that you would like to transfer the service over to another phone. when you get to someone that can do that for you, they should have no problem being able to disconnect your service.

if your still having problems tell them that you just want to transfer the new phone to a new account, but that you need to close that old one first since the phone isn't working. they should be more understanding in closing the account, since your telling them that you want to start a new account. sounRAB like they want to charge you until its the service interrupted.

one other thing i was just thinking about. If its your daughters account, is it in her name by chance. If so, maybe you should have a female try calling. just a suggestion.

are you wanting to keep the phone nurabers?

If so, I the new provider will port the nurabers and cancel it for you..

Or simply don't pay any more bills. I guess it just depenRAB on how much credit you are due at this time.... and how much your time is worth to you...

Me personally am quite anal about things like this and often find myself investing more time in these things than it is worth. Spend 50.00 to prove I was cheated out of 20.00

Your easiest avenue is to go into a cricket corporate store and make them handle it for you. If they tell you tocall customer service, tell them you've tried, and make them place the call for you.

a corporate store should be able to do it for you, the reason for the transfer is they have a retention tool to try to keep customers on. customer care and dealers do not have access to this tool, and thus are not able to cancel accounts.

alternatively you could just stop paying the bill.

lol yeah i ported my nuraber from cricket to tmobile and everything seemed good but for some reason i couldnt recieve text messages from any cricket person.

so two weeks go buy and cricket is still charging me.

so i call them and get transferred like 4 times then get a busy signal. call back then transferred all the way to the porting department lol.

anyways yeah off to the store

corporate owned store... which sometimes is hard to determine.

I had a similar issue the other day when trying to split my account with 2 lines into two seperate accounts. 47 minutes on hold, and finally when the rep came on the line, she said she would have to close down the account, open two new ones, bill activation fees on both, they may be down for a maximum of 48 hours, and theres no guarentee either one would keep the same phone nuraber.

i laughed at her and hung up.

I tryed to cancel aswell. I got sick of the CS problems. I hate dealing with these people. T-Mobile is much friendler.

I just stopped paying, and didn't get shut off. I owe $293 now, and I was shut off last month. Funny thing I get a card in the mail today, "Come Back to us, first month free, past due balance waived". LOL

I'm not worried about it anyways. It was my ex's phone anyhow. I still have my account, and will until they stop me from useing whatever device I want.

I did reactivate it though with the card.

yeah my friend works for tmobile and that is how they are trained. they are supposed to "build a relationship" with the customer.

sometimes it annoys me but it is nice lol

It is anoying, but its better than someone with an accent reading a script. Atleast they can help. Cricket reps are half retarded. I used to get an ocasional american, but now its all outsourced.

this is how it works with most companies:
level 1 - 2 you deal with outsourced cs. 99% of customers can be dealt with at that level.. most questions are how much is my bill? when is my bill due? etc..

once you get past them you are working with north america based call centers...

just like the crappy cell phone insurance (YES IT IS A RIP OFF I KNOW) you just have to realize it is what it is. if you want to talk to someone that is based out of north america you have to make it past the first level or two.

side note: many corporations are now realizing that offloading their support lines overseas is not nearly as cost effective as originally thought due to decrease in customer loyalty when they receive poor customer service.

ATT is supposed to be bringing back all their call center to the US. hopefully this trend will continue.
