I have a Canon Rebel XS and an older Speedtron Brown Line Studio Light kit. I know I need a hot shoe to pc connection. My question is do I need to get the Wein Safe Sync? I realize that is the most secure way to go. However, after reading on the internet you get so much contradictory information. I want to get this light kit up and running and I need to get this adapter but Im also cost conscious and don't want to spend more than I have to. I have read in some places that all of canon's DSLRs after a certain date were rated up to 250v but then I read somewhere that that 250 is for cameras with pc connection and that the hot shoe is only rated to 6v. My light kit says its trigger voltage is 70v. Any help would be appreciated.
