I want a nice camera for christmas but I dont really know or understand too much about cameras. In your opinion, which would you buy?

Which one do you have or have used? What are the pros and cons? The **most important thing** is that when I push the button, the picture gets taken and the pictures have great color. I have gone through so many little cheapo cameras that ruin the colors and take the picture like 13 seconds later.
So, if you could get either one, which would you get??
