after a ton of google searches, all I've found are related questions that are dated before iOS 3. which is unhelpful since it seems the bluetooth capability has advanced since.
I bought an IOGear GBU421 bluetooth transmitter for my PC. I'm trying to pair my ipod touch to it, but it doesn't want to. both the receiver and the ipod are turned on and discoverable, they see each other and they are both set up to recognise the other and everything. the only problem is they will not pair. I installed the driver for the GBU421 (v6.3.0.6300 from the site, but says it is v6.3.0.6060 so I don't know), I did the number sequence business when I was first setting it up, but they still will not pair. I have iOS4 (just 4.0, nothing past).
my goal is to use my pc for internet on my ipod. now my friend told me he's never heard of that, "ever". so I don't know what I'm doing exactly. I could just config the wireless to become an internet connection gateway, but if this bluetooth internet thing is possible, I would like to achieve such redundancy (for kicks). I'm really just trying to get it to work since I bought a pair of bluetooth headphones that I'm still waiting on to arrive and I want to make sure this receiver will accommodate them properly. though it could just be an Apple issue since they "hold your hand". some would say cut off...
Devices & Printers > in the properties for my iPod, it is listed as "Not Supported Bluetooth Function". it said this when the Plug'n'Play installed the "driver". except it has no driver... this is where I am lost. if I tell it to update the driver, it says it is up to date. perhaps it requires none?
I think I've said all I can.
