Cannot lift as much weight at gym?

Basically i used to go to the gym 4 times a week training various body parts which improved my strength and muscle mass for 1 year but however due to certain issues i had to stop training for 9 months. Now i have started working out again and i cannot lift a quarter of what i used to lift, can you please tell me if this is normal and what i could do in order to progress in my lifting. Thank You
