My canines very lightly touch, but they definitely do not clash together. It sounds like this would be uncomfortable! I would definitely check with your dentist about this. If left untreated, it's possible that the teeth would wear against one another and you would have increased sensitivity and possibly pain in those teeth. I have wear on my front bottom teeth because my top front tooth rubbed against them too closely. Now the bottom teeth are very sensitive and you can tell they are thinner if you have a light against them. My dentist was able to use a tool to lightly sand down the backs of my front top teeth so they didn't rub against them any more. If they were hitting a lot more, they would typically refer you to an orthodontist to talk about realigning them so you have a proper bite. Hope this helps!
