Cancer Anxiety

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so if its not I'm sorry.

My question is, why am I soooo scared of having cancer? Ive never had cancer, nor has either of my parents. But everytime I am sick I automatically assume its cancer and I will die. I'm 26 years old. Still young although cancer seems to know all ages. Please help I dont want to be scared of things I cannot control.

My health concerns tend to revolve around sinus cancer due to the fact I have what is believed to be a sinus cyst.

Breast cancer due to the fact I have breast cysts and a fibroadenoma.

Why do I have these problems at such a young age?

Don't worry...there are lots of people out there who feel the same way you do. Ignore those thoughts when they come into your head by distracting yourself with something...eventually they will go away.

IDontUnderstand, you aren't the first person to feel this way. I am the same. I had several enlarged nodes in my groin that were finally removed last week, and I had an anxiety attack worrying about next week when my results will be back. I'm only 23. I just posted on another person's thread a quote of something my friend said to me
"think thoughts that make you happy, and never mind reality"
and why shouldn't you? any pain or fear or worry you have about cancer will consume you if/when you get cancer, so for now, be happy and relieved that so far, you have been CANCER-FREE!!! 3 out of 5 people will get cancer at some point in their lives, but you don't hear of 3 out of 5 people DYING from cancer so just rest easy and erabrace the health you have now, albeit imperfect. you have made a habit of letting the thought of cancer cross your mind. now you have to form a new habit of thinking about sunshine and lollipops! or, if you aren't barney the dinosaur, whatever it is that makes you happy ;)
much love
