Cancellation Penalty question

OK, so my wife is becoming less than thrilled with the amount of times we are having lost signals which are weather related. Anyone living in SW Ontario knows the feeling this year, plus outages during the winter snows. I have been given a penalty figure of $349. Now if we do cancel to go back to cable I have figured out that we will save about $750 over the 14 months left of our contract with BEV. Minus the $349, we still save. the question is when we cancel will we have to pay anything over and above the final bill which comes I assume in 30 days? We have the MLB package but I would think that we will be charged for service used and not the full package price (I know a bad assumption). Just looking for a little insight here before taking the plunge. And about the savings I stated...we have basic cable service now for the local channel content...don't ask (peace in the family is worth almost any price since BEV was my idea after years of cable).

Thanks...

It shoudn't happen too often...if it does, it maybe means that you dish need alignement. To have a tech verifing that for you wil cost you 75$, a fee they will probably waive if you threathen to disconnect

There is a 30 notice period...you have to pay all programming charges until the end of that 30 days notice period

I belive you would have to pay it until your final bill, the portion you will view in other words, and not the entire package. I might be wrong too, I don't recall being asked that question while I was working at EV

I wouldn't be too quick to pull the plug on satellite TV. When I had COGECO and Star Choice at the same time, I found that cable went off during a storm just as often as satellite.

what you would be charged is $200 early termination penalty because you are in your first year of service plus $99 for the first receiver and $50 for each additional receiver. The also reserve the right to charge for programming up to a maximum of $100. As far as i know the Baseball would be charged for the full year. This is a MLB clause not exvu.

In other words, drop down to the bar minimum standard package and let that ride the term of your contract.
