Two years ago my brother cosigned with our cousin for a T mobile phone. Our cousin has money and drug issues, so the phones had been kept locked down and her mother has been paying the bills. Our cousin recently went in and extended the contract and added her boyfriend who got out of jail. My brother went in to the T Mobile store at the Maplewood Mall to cancel the contract and was told because the contract had been extended, there was now a $1100 termination fee. My brother, who is elderly and has vision problems paid the bill. Is there a way, short of hiring a lawyer, to get the money back.
