I am going to upgrade my current Blackberry Curve 8900 (AT&T) to a new HTC smartphone. I don't remember why, but my Blackberry curve 8900 was not charged any data plan when i purchased it with the 2 year contract back in 2008.
If i were to unlock my Blackberry curve 8900 right now and continue using it instead of my new HTC smartphone, will i still be charged a new premium data plan or can i cancel it since i don't have the HTC as my main phone anymore? (i'm planning on reselling my HTC smartphone or giving it to a friend afterward.)

REMEMBER, i never had a data plan with my blackberry curve before. I am just concerned that if i gave the HTC smartphone to a friend/sold it, i would still be charged the data plan monthly even though it would not be my main phone anymore.
